Cedar Creek Offers Free Delivery on Every Order

I am a huge fan of supporting local even before the pandemic. As a food blogger I had the opportunity to meet many passionate people in our local food and beverage industry. It is the passion and dedication that I most admire and I want to continue supporting these people.

Which lends to Cedar Creek, an award-winning winery located in Okanagan BC. I recently purchased a case of wine from Cedar Creek and due to the pandemic Canada Post does not deliver directly to homes. I contacted Darryl, the GM and Mairoula, Guest Service Manager and they immediately responded and quickly rectified the situation. A new shipment was delivered only a few days later. They went above and beyond and I wanted to say thank you.

So support local! Check out their large selection of wines

Swirl Wine Store Expands Delivery Service

I have been a huge fan of Swirl wine store,  in Yaletown. They specialize in BC wines and have a selection of hard to attain BC wines they are usually sold only at the winery – usually from Okanagan BC. They is my go to wine store for many years now. I love to support local businesses and BC wines are delicious! Best Cabernet Francs and top rated Pinot Noirs.

Before the pandemic Swirl would have weekly wine tastings that range from Pinot Grigio to Cabernet Franc, one of my favourites from Okanagan BC. Their staff is super knowledgable of the wineries, vineyards and taste profiles.

If you are wine newbie or whose consumption has bordered on socially unacceptable like myself and start drinking at now 11AM, they have something for you. Before the pandemic they had signs posted throughout Swirl of top BC wines and the awards they have won to guide you. Their staff is friendly, non-judgemental and most importantly for me educational.

So I wanted to support them during these times.

Here is one of the emails I received that I will pass on to you.

They deliver to downtown Vancouver, Kits, Dunbar, Point Grey,
West End, Mt. Pleasant or South Vancouver area. I moved to East Vancouver and phoned they did accommodate me. I believe it was because my home was on the way to their home. Their number is 604-408-9463

Purchase 4 -Bottles of wine or more and your delivery is free.

Vancouver Restaurants Stay Afloat with Creative Meal Options

As many restaurants in metro Vancouver close their doors to the public a few kitchens remain open. Here are some creative ways restaurants are helping their staff and each other. As well as ways that we all can help.

On a personal note, I have been blogging for many years and have met the most amazing, passionate people within the food industry. From farmers to cooks, servers and owners. They are some of the most generous people I know. One thing that unites them is their passion to serve food that makes people happy. It crushes me to see so many of my friends struggle. So I have come back from my blogging hiatus to rally around these generous people and give them all the support and love.

If you want to be added to this list please let me know by emailing foodpersuasion@gmail.com

Support the Team at Strathcona

With all the uncertainty that we all face it is a time to come together to get through this ordeal. When I saw this come across my email I jumped in to help.

Superflux went from having zero website to launching an online store and beer delivery service in partnership with Strathcona Beer Company – all in under 24 hours. For just $5 per delivery, Vancouverites can order Superflux and Strathcona beer to their home for same-day or next-day delivery ($35 minimum order). 100% of the delivery fee goes directly to the team at Strathcona who have lost wages due to the effects of COVID-19 on the local economy. The initiative will also help Strathcona avoid any further lay-offs.

Within the first 4.5 hours of going live, nearly $3,000 worth of beer was sold and more than $200 was raised to give back to the staff.

Delivery is currently available only within the City of Vancouver and Superflux and Strathcona are hoping to add more breweries to help support others in the community.
