Jean Philippe Patisserie – Chocolate Porn At It’s Best

Vegas to me, is about partying, sleepless nights and food, great food.

Jean Philippe Patisserie located inside Aria Hotel in Las Vegas, is all about bright colors. It’s food porn at it’s best. We began salivating just looking at the desserts. Everything was visually stunning.

The chocolate dragon and cherry blossoms display is a masterpiece.  I wanted to go inside the display and frolic.

You ready for some food porn?

I’ll start with the savory, the sandwiches although I did not get to try it, was very popular amongst the tourists.

Chocolates, Chocolates and MORE CHOCOLATES

I’d say it beats Thomas Haas chocolates and you can forget about Thierry. One bite, and I was giddy from a choco-gasim. I had about 5, I was sooo happy.  The flavor was intense. I don’t remember which ones I ate but, I clearly remember how I felt. It might have been because I was semi-awake and running on adrenaline, or because I was so dehydrated but, these were the best chocolates I’ve ever had. My euphoria lasted for about an hour.

Ganache Patisserie – Yulelog Fest

My last Vancouver Food bloggers meetup of the year was a holiday sugar fest at Ganache Patisserie. Getting our sugar high on with food bloggers Eat with JennyFoodie On the 49th and, Chris from Cooq .

We all shared the Chocolat Amande Croquant, dark chocolate amaretto mouse, griottine cherry gelee, milk chocolate macadamian nut cremeux, caramel crunch , and cute little chocolate financiers.  It was shaped as a cute chocolate train.  6” buche $30

I just finished a huge cavity inducing but, too good to pass, French toast from Glowbal Restaurant & Lounge. So I was pretty high and just tipping over my sugar intake limit for the day. That being said, my review is a little biased. I thought the cake was too sweet and much too dense.  However, even though I could only finish a ¼ of my cake everyone else polished up their plates. As compared to the Yule log at Giovane, which was lighter and had more texture, this cake lacked the crunch.
