During my trip to New York we hit up a few, ok I lied, MANY restaurants. We chose Café Habana a small yet popular Cuban / Spanish joint in East Village. Café Habana is known for their corn and Cuban sandwiches.
During lunch time it was packed and we were seated in a cramped corner. Once I tasted their Cuban sandwich they could have sat me on a bus stop for all I cared. It was that good!
The Quesadilla de Pollo was typical and the intensity of the flavours was dull.
I asked for restaurant suggestions in New York, almost everyone recommended Del Posto for lunch. I can see why, it was delicious. Del Posto décor was stunning. A two level restaurant that reminded me of opulent Victorian homes with the gleaming cherry oak. They had a personal stool to rest your designer bag. I thought it was a foot stool, that’s how cultured I am.
The service was impeccable, the FOOD was amazing.
Sorry guys it’s been a while since my trip. I can’t believe I forgot to blog about it. I still do have some pics though.
Tomato Consume, prosciutto wrap appie and I forgot what type of tea sandwich it was.
This was the best Orecchiette dish I’ve ever had. It was so creamy it just melted in my mouth. It was one of my favourite dishes of the meal. Not part of the set lunch menu.
I was obsessed with skate for a while. This was phenomenally cooked.
Damn! Chocolate pistachio was sooo good. I am just salivating thinking about it.
Sour Cherry Ice cream was surprisingly refreshing.
Amazing Chocolate Platter, the chocolate covered grapefruit peel was so intense and my friend’s favourite
Tip: If you show them 4square you receive a complimentary flute of Champaign.
You need a freaking map to find this burger joint but it’s worth it.
Burger Joint is situated behind curtains in the corner of the Parker Meridian lobby, right beside the concierge desk. There is large sign and you have to walk through a dark makeshift path.
Inside the decor reminds me of a midtown local dive bar, although I doubt anyone here was a local. Most look like tourists. Furnished with wooden bar benches and booths and, celebrity photos and autographs and strewn throughout the walls.
It was packed, so we decided to take it up to our rooms. (Special thanks to Eman for hooking us with a gorgeous 1 bedroom suite on the sub-penthouse floor at the Parker Meridian)
The burger was juicy, so much more than I expected that the juice squirted all over the front of my shirt. The fries are norm, not anything special the patty itself is a must try.
