Vegas to me, is about partying, sleepless nights and food, great food.
Jean Philippe Patisserie located inside Aria Hotel in Las Vegas, is all about bright colors. It’s food porn at it’s best. We began salivating just looking at the desserts. Everything was visually stunning.
The chocolate dragon and cherry blossoms display is a masterpiece. I wanted to go inside the display and frolic.
You ready for some food porn?
I’ll start with the savory, the sandwiches although I did not get to try it, was very popular amongst the tourists.
Ok, that’s enough savory….
Ice cream galore and baked goods…
Colorful Rice Krispies Balls…it’s Christmas all over again.
Now here’s the star…..
Chocolates, Chocolates and MORE CHOCOLATES
I’d say it beats Thomas Haas chocolates and you can forget about Thierry. One bite, and I was giddy from a choco-gasim. I had about 5, I was sooo happy. The flavor was intense. I don’t remember which ones I ate but, I clearly remember how I felt. It might have been because I was semi-awake and running on adrenaline, or because I was so dehydrated but, these were the best chocolates I’ve ever had. My euphoria lasted for about an hour.
Chocolate shoe sculpture .. you get me, you really get me!
Quality ingredients for vegans who still crave chocolate. There are no preservatives and unnatural sugars.
What I love about chocolate is the creamy, melt it in my mouth texture. When I take a bite my pleasure senses are kick started. I don’t think any other candy could compare to the sexyness that chocolate induces. Using your tongue and swirling the rich sweetness and letting it melt in your mouth is orgasmic.
Zimt Orange chocolate bar although very decent in taste and comparable to the real orange chocolate, it lacks the texture. It was crunchy, from the nibs and grainy.
They are a good option for Vegans not yet ready to give up chocolate or people with food allergies. Not yet available everywhere, I saw this at Loving Hut Express down on Pacific a vegan food cart.
Celebrated Chocolatier-Pâtissier Thierry Busset, opens a she-she foo-foo pastry shop on Alberni St Downtown. I’ve been complaining there is just not enough bakeries in Downtown. Walking in, I was giddy with sweet goodness. Every product was so deliciously presented.
I expected the prices were going to be steep, especially situated on Alberni and Georgia. The prices were even more expensive than my favorite pastry cafe, Thomas Haas which compares to $5.95 vs here $6.95.
I didn’t get a chance to try out the chocolates but, it is a promise that I will.
My friend, Gary has tried every Tiramisu in town and rated this a 8.5/10! The high marks is almost unheard of from him.
Raspberry and Blueberry Tart
Citrus Madeleines, were light. I gobbled up the entire bag within a day.
Forgot what these cakes were called but they were rum based. Not my favorite, although it may just be my preference. They sure looked pretty, that and the rum was what sold it.
