Location:
The Parade is in downtown Vancouver, located just blocks from the Burrard, City Centre, Granville and Waterfront SkyTrain stations.

Parade route:
The Parade starts at Georgia and Broughton, travels east on Georgia to Howe, turns south on Howe, and finishes at Howe and Davie. (1.8 kms)

Volunteer:
The Parade has over 300 volunteers. Sign up to volunteer!

Participants:
The Parade has more than 3,500 participants. This year’s Parade will feature more than 60 marching bands, choirs, festive floats, and community groups. Sign up to participate!

Spectators:
Each year the Parade attracts 300,000 spectators to downtown Vancouver.

Coast Capital Savings Christmas Square:
The festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with two and a half hours of family entertainment at the Coast Capital Savings Christmas Square in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Christmas Square includes the Food Bank drop-off zone, gingerbread decorating station, face painting, Letters to Santa station, balloon twisting, and an entertainment stage featuring several music and dance performances. (10:30 am-1 pm)

Charity:
The Parade is one of the largest food and fund raising events for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Since 2004, the Parade has collected $110,000 and more than 67,380 lbs. of food for hungry families in the Lower Mainland. On Parade day, we encourage spectators to bring a monetary or non-perishable food donation for the Food Bank. For each dollar donated, the food Bank can purchase three dollars’ worth of food.

The Yaletown Business Improvement Association is proud to announce the 2nd annual free outdoor Christmas festival – Candytown. Last year, an estimated 15,000 people came out to Candytown to kick off the holidays.

Downtown Vancouver’s only free winter festival will transformMainland Street into a winter wonderland. Lights and candy canes will adorn lamp poles and costumed characters will parade down the street. Holiday shoppers are invited to start their seasonal gift buying in Yaletown with local merchants as well as a specialty market carrying unique gifts and holiday treats. You’ll also find Mainland Street filled with local artisans, street performers and live music.

This outdoor Christmas festival is free, open to the public and sure to get people into the Christmas spirit.

Anna Olson Headlines Home for the Holidays Stage

Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada – One of Western Canada’s largest holiday season shows, the West Coast Christmas Show & Marketplace returns for its sixth year on November 22, 23, and 24, 2013 at the TRADEX Trade and Exhibition Centre in Abbotsford, B.C. The West Coast Christmas Show brings together unique gifts by artisans and commercial brands, holiday-related food, personal services, and festive seminars and workshops to help attendees prepare for and celebrate the holiday season. Food Network Canada’s Anna Olson will be on the Home for the Holidays Stage to show visitors how to make dishes that will wow your Christmas dinner table.

New for this year, Santa will be available for photos with visitors and their pets. Network for Animals will provide professionally taken photos and 100% of donations will go to back to the organization. Pets (not including snakes or reptiles) may only come in for photos and then must be removed from the venue due to health regulations. For photo hours, please click here. Other returning traditions of the show include the musical Sounds of the Holidays Stage, on which many Fraser Valley schools will participate, and the Festival of Trees, created by local charitable organizations competing for a cash prize. The Fraser Valley G Scale and friends will display their steam-operated model train, and the Fraser Valley Model Club will showcase models made by their members. Children ages 8 and older will be introduced to model making as a hands-on hobby by participating in make and take sessions, making airplanes and cars such as the Hummer, Corvette, and Lamborghini.

Also returning are the popular Dairy Farmers of Canada Cheese Seminars, where visitors sample a variety of cheeses from across Canada. 99 Nursery & Florist will be on site to provide plant & poinsettia baskets and other seasonal home décor items.
