The countdown to Christmas begins on Sunday, December 23 and Monday, December 24 as Executive Chef Curtis Luk applies his culinary talents to Cibo’s annual ‘Feast of Seven Fishes’family style dinners before hosting a pair of New Year’s Eve Dinner services in Cibo’s intimate dining room on Monday, December 31. That same night, Cibo’s sister establishment UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar will turn the calendar to 2019 by welcoming partygoers to a Speakeasy-styled New Year’s Eve Party that features a four-course tasting menu paired with sparkling wine and signature cocktails.
FEAST OF SEVEN FISHES
On Sunday, December 23 and Monday, December 24, Cibo Trattoria will host a pair of Italian-inspired ‘Feast of Seven Fishes’ dinners featuring a seven-course menu showcasing the best fresh, local seafood and ingredients available in dishes such as crispy smelt (preserved lemon, basil), polpo alla Luciana (slow-cooked octopus, tomato, chili), timballo di frutti di mare (timbale of shellfish, pasta, pastry), and sogliola ripieno (Petrale sole, spinach, winter mushrooms).

NEW YEAR’S EVE DINNER
On Monday, December 31 with seatings at 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 8 to 10:30 p.m., Cibo will kick off the New Year’s Eve countdown with a six-course menu prepared by Executive Chef Curtis Lukthat includes such highlights as beef carpaccio (in the original style of Harry’s Bar in Venice), veal piccata (veal scallopine, parsley, capers, lemon), and crêpes à la crème (crêpes filled with vanilla cream and flambéed).

Partygoers can take a trip back in time to the bootlegging days of the Prohibition era when the team at UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar host a Speakeasy-styled New Year’s Eve Party on Monday, December 31 beginning at 8 p.m. UVA’s end-of-year celebration offers revelers a four-course tasting menu that includes beef carpaccio (in the original style of Harry’s Bar in Venice), scampi alla carlina (prawns cooked in butter, capers and tomato), tagliolini gratinati al prosciutto (tagliolini with ham, béchamel, parmigiano reggiano), and zeppole paired with sparkling wine and signature cocktails and live entertainment as well as champagne sabering.
