Neptune Chinese Kitchen, situated at Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam opened it’s doors.
The interior reminds me of a typical rice, noodle congee cafe but the quality of the food is far superior.
We sampled a range a dishes from sticky rice on crispy chicken my favourite to siu am and creamy egg yolk custard bun.
The steam lobster with sticky rice in the bamboo steamer was different. Although excited as we were to try it, the rice lacked flavour. I recommend the crab with salty egg.
The curry seafood chow mien, Singapore style curry had punch and decent flavour. This dish is usually soaked in gloopy sauce. This was not the noodles were extra crispy, the way I like it.
Minced fish and pumpkin congee was flavourful and creamy, although maybe because of the larger portion, it is slightly more expensive than their similar competitors.
All in all it was a good dinner, although on the pricier side I will return.
