As we walked through the grand Metropolitan Hotel lobby into the Diva at the Met we were met with soaring ceilings and an impeccable mannered greeting. Hello, Ms Lau, how are you this afternoon? Your table of 12 is ready, I can take your jacket for you.” First off, how did she know my name??
Most of us ordered the 3 course prix fixe lunch menu -$28
Amuse bouche- parsnip pancetta with a little bit of maple syrup. This received mixed reviews, some like the parsnip flavor some don’t, I frankly, thought it was too sweet.

We received a nice assortment of breads, crackers.

Smoked Salmon Sausage with pea and risotto croquette drizzled with caviar dressing. We all loved the salmon sausage. It was so flavorful and it was so soft it just dissolved in my mouth.

Pan roasted duck with trumpet mushrooms, butternut squash pea and onion croquettes, butternut squash purée and hazelnut brown butter sauce. Overall, this was a decent dish but, nothing really stood out. I expected a lot more from the Diva, the highly rated fine dining restaurant.

Yes, it was one my birthday celebrations. The espresso creme brûlée was heaven, I finished it less than 3 bites. Oh, it was so velvety smooth and rich.

All of my quetsonis settledthanks!
