Like most of us, we have one restaurant that stands above all others, our #1 Go To restaurant. We love that restaurant because it is cozily familiar, provides great service, and, above all, serves superb food. My #1 Go To restaurant for lunch—d no not Cactus—Joe Fortes. Their prix fixe lunch menu is my absolute favorite in terms of value. Two courses for -$14.95 or three courses for $17.95 is a steal for the high quality of seafood served. Available 11 – 4PM Monday thru Friday.
It took me less than 2 seconds to sell my friends on this deal.
We started off with our appies. The hefty portion of Mixed Greens Drizzled With a light Balsamic Vinaigrette was crisp and refreshing, unlike crappy restaurants where thegreens are drowning in dressing and taste like gooey slop over ripe green mush. – Pretty appetizing isn’t it?

The cup of clam chowder was a little smaller, not too rich, and had the right creamy consistency. Whole pieces of clam, bacon and thyme.

For our entrées my friends ordered the Maple Glazed Wild Salmon with Roasted Potatoes. The subtle smoky maple flavor gave it an extra layer of flavor.

The Shrimp Linguine with Basil Marinara Sauce was simple, too simple. The dish needed a spark of creativity that was missing. No cheaping out on the shrimp though. I split it with my friend, so double the picture below to get the true portion size.

To finish off, we all ordered the Vanilla Crème Brulée with Caramel Sauce. After my friend Soph, announced she was too full to possibly have another bite, she proceeded to attack the dessert voraciously, finishing it in record time. Apparently, it was that good!

It’s a popular hangout during lunch, so make reservations.
I do recommend making reservations for lunch, it’s a pretty popular hangout during lunch.
Nice review. Now I’m hungry…. I’m always hungry 😦
