Popular Vancouver Restaurants Fails Health Inspections

Vancouver restaurant’s health inspection report card is out and many failed.

Surprised to see your neighborhood restaurant received a failing grade in their health inspection. Are you thinking about your last order of the steaming bowl of pho teaming with cockroach droppings.

From the Coastal Health Inspections, these unsanitary restaurants violated a range of health regulations and were asked to remedy the situation immediately between January – July 2010.

VANCOUVER:

India Bistro, 1157 Davie St., January 6 to 7, for rodent infestation and unsanitary conditions.

Super Happiness Seafood, 6007 Fraser St., January 6 to 12 or unsanitary conditiions and pest infestation.

Vancouver U Sushi, 1184 Denman St., January 20 to 22, for unsanitary conditions, improper dish and glass washing and pest infestation.

Granville Island Poultryland, 1689 Johnston St., Feb. 12 to 17 or lack of hot water.

Japadog, 500 Burrard St., February 26 for lack of hot water and improper food storage temperatures.

Hot dog cart, 900 Robson St., February 26, for improper food storage temperatures.

Hot dog cart, 1000 West Georgia St., February 26 for lack of hot water and improper food storage temperatures.

Kitanoya Guu, 375 Water St., March 29 to April 6 for lack of hot water, unsanitary conditions and pest infestation.

Traditional Chinese BBQ House, 3141 Kingsway, April 8 to 12 for pest infestation.

Tan Tan Food Products, 709 East Hastings, April 19 to 23, for unsanitary conditions and pest infestation.

Plaza 500 Hotel and Figmint Restaurant, April 22 to 27, for improper construction; improper dishwashing and glasswashing

Taco Del Mar, 545 Granville St., May 10 for lack of hot water

Taste of Paradise Cafe, 1399 Commercial Dr., May 27 to May 31 for improper constructiion, unsanitary conditiions, improper food storage temperatures, pest infestation.

Sushi Bang, 500 West Broadway, June 1 to 4 for improper construction, unsanitary conditions, improper food storage temperatures, pest infestation.

Urban Mongolian Grill and Urban Sushi, 566 Granville St., June 2 to 3, or lack of hot water

Ivanhoe Hotel Kitchen, 1038 Main St., June 7 to 10, for improper dish and glass washing and pest infestation.

Olympia Pizza, 998 Denman St., from June 14 to 15 for unsanitary conditiions.

Tiny Flower BBQ, 3048 Kingsway, June 17 to 21 for unsanitary conditions and pest infestation.

Big Johnny’s, 2828 West Fourth Ave., from July 2 and pending for unsanitary conditions and pest infestation.

NORTH SHORE:

Sunrise Japanese Restaurant, Squamish, January 14 to January 21 for “failure to maintain premises, equipment and utensils in a sanitary condition.”

Sakana Sushi, 1533 Marine Dr., West Vancouver (now permanently closed), from March 29 to April 8, for cockroach infestation and unsanitary conditions.

Doc’s Restaurant and Pub, Bowen Island, April 15 to 16 for rodent infestation and improper dishwashing method.

Persia Food Products , 1469 1469 Marine Dr., West Vancouver, June 9 to 10 for rodent infestation.

Finest Yum Yum Chinese Restaurant, 1615 Lonsdale, North Vancouver, June 1 to June 10 fot unsanitary conditioins, sewage contamination and water damage.

RICHMOND:

Grace Good Company, 8888 Odlin Crescent, from March 25 and pending, for improper dishwashing/glass washing and sewage contamination.

Szechwan Restaurant, 8188 Saba Rd., March 28 to 30, unsanitary conditions, pest infestation
